Kristina Küster-Witt
(b. 1968, Stuttgart, Germany)
Kristina Küster-Witt received her masters at the Academy of Visual Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1995, where she studied under the tutelage of artist Peter Ackermann (Meisterschüler in 1995).
In 1992 she received an E.U. scholarship at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, Netherlands. There she was also awarded three consecutive fellowship grants from Foundation STROOM - The Hague in 1995, `96 and `97.
In 1999 she was granted a residency and stipend (Kavalierhaus Langenargen) at Lake of Constance, Germany.
In 2000 Küster-Witt received a prestigious Art Prize from Sparkasse Karlsruhe.
In the U.S. she was the recipient of a Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism Artist Fellowship Grant for 2010.
Her paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in museums and galleries in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium including NordArt 2017.
She lived in New York, Austin/TX and Connecticut in the U.S. since 2001 and her work has been included in several notable exhibitions, including the Art of the Northeast at Silvermine Arts Center; First Street Gallery, New York; Attleboro Arts Museum, MA; Prince Street Gallery, New York; Kehler Liddell Gallery New Haven, CT; Ceres Gallery, New York; The Northeast Prize Show at the Cambridge Arts Association, MA; Artspace New Haven, CT; Ridgefield Guild of Artists, CT; Soho 20 Gallery, New York, The Gallery at Whitney Center, Hamden, CT; and many more.
She moved from the US to Belgium in 2016 and currently lives and works near Brussels.
